Special Symposium
The convergence of materials, electronics and biological systems at the nanoscale are creating unprecedented opportunities for multidisciplinary research. For instance, bio-inspired systems such as motors have been isolated, modified and studied in detail at the biochemical level. One of the most significant impacts of the nanotechnology revolution however, is seen in the area of biomolecular analysis, which, as predicted by Feyman, has reached new levels of sensitivity, precision and resolution due to advances in the physical sciences. The use of approaches such as fluidics and nanoscale fabrication is no longer foreign to biological research, especially in the realm of Sensor and Diagnostics. This symposium will cover a wide range of topics and is designed to provide a glimpse of the interdisciplinary nature of modern bioanalytical research. We invite submissions in each of these areas and related topics.
