Irradiated Road Surface System using Truck-Mounted Electron Beam Technology
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, IL, United States
Fermilab has developed a concept for truck-mounted electron accelerators that can be used for in situ treatment of freshly laid asphalt, turning it into a tougher, longer-lasting material. This could significantly extend the life of our roads and allow high quality pot-hole repair even on the coldest winter days.
