Director, Printable Electronics Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, ChinaProf. Cui received his PhD degree in electronic engineering at the Southeast University, China, in 1988, became a Visiting Fellow at the Microelectronics Research Center, Cambridge University, UK, in 1989. He joined the Central Microstructure Facility, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, in 1993 and became a Principal Scientist and group leader since 1999. During working in the UK, he authored and coauthored over 190 technical publications and published 4 books in the area of micro and nanofabrication technologies and applications. He was elected as a Fellow of UK Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2004. In 2009, after working for 20 years in the UK, he returned to China and joined the Suzhou Institute of Nanotech, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and set up the Printable Electronics Research Center. He and his team published the first book on printed electronics in China. He is also the Managing Director of Suzhou NanoGrid Technology company, working towards commercialization of printed electronics.
