John Homoelle

Director of New Technology & Regulatory Affairs


John is a native of Cincinnati and holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.

John has been with Michelman for 39 years. In this time he has performed research at the bench, managed all lab staff, overseen ISO certification and TQM practices, oversaw and led the first IT installation at Michelman, has been on the executive leadership team of John Michelman where Michelman’s first Strategic Plan was created and oversees the regulatory functions of the company. His current role is Director of New Technology and Regulatory Affairs where he has been tasked with changing the culture of Michelman to one that supports innovation regardless of its origin.

John is a member of TAPPI where he is on the SSIG that reviews and updates TAPPI paper based procedures. He has spoken at technical conferences such as PLACE, CorrExpo, Biopolymer and Western Michigan on biopolymers, sustainability, and barrier properties. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society.
