Call for Student Leaders - Submissions Closed

TechConnect, in partnership with student groups from across the country including SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Club, the University of Central Florida’s Society for Emerging and NanoTechnologies (SENT), and the University of Virginia's Nano and Emerging Technologies Club (NExT), is proud to announce the 2017 Nano and Emerging Technologies Student Leaders Conference co-located with the 2017 TechConnect World Innovation Conference and 2017 Nanotech Conference & Expo, Gaylord National Convention Center, Washington DC, May 14-17.

The Student Leaders Conference brings together undergraduate nano and emerging technologies student group representatives from across the United States. This program is seeking out active student group leaders in order to highlight undergraduate research and connect students with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, venture capitalists, and representatives of federal agencies funding research in emerging technologies.

This year’s program includes a panel discussion that gives students an opportunity to hear from industry and government leaders, a session in which students will have an opportunity to present their research and/or entrepreneurial efforts, and an event where students will share their thoughts on the future potential of emerging technologies and then discuss their ideas with community leaders. There will also be a poster session and reception. Additionally, the Student Leaders Conference is an opportunity for students to share best practices and network with like-minded group leaders. In its role to support the National Nanotechnology Initiative, the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office is helping to establish the U.S. Nano and Emerging Technologies Student Network. Student leaders from the network have designed the conference in order to ensure the programming meets the needs of these groups.

To apply to join the Student Leaders Conference, please submit information about your current or proposed Student Group along with your role in the group and willingness to present during a poster session and/or the student presentation session. Participation is welcome from student leaders in any science, technology, and business domain.
