Summary:

As the demand for medical treatment quality increases, a wound dressing that can provide a better healing environment, reduce the number for dressing changes, decrease infection, etc., is required. The present report relates to a dressing comprising an asiaticoside extract (HerbEx centella Extract, Biospectrum, Jeju island, Korea.) and electrospinned PVA (polyvinylalcohol) nanofiber. In the nanofibers containing Asiaticoside extract, the size of the wound was significantly reduced and the generation of collagen required for wound healing was induced in comparison with the pristine PVA nanofiber.
