Tom Wendland is the Manager of the Polymer Innovation Team at Sherwin Williams. His team is dedicated to developing novel materials for use in all coatings applications across a wide range of end-uses. They frequently partner with Universities and outside companies to create unique technologies. Prior to managing the Polymer Innovation team Tom worked as the Polymer Service Manager. In this role he managed all internal polymer development projects for Sherwin Williams. Tom has a Master's Degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo. He has worked in drug design and synthesis as well as molecular electronics. After graduation he worked developing novel functional monomers. He then joined Sherwin Williams where he developed several novel polymers with unique properties for coatings applications.
