Captain Joseph Cohn is an Aerospace Experimental Psychologist (AEP) in the U.S. Navy’s Medical Service Corps. He is currently assigned as the Chief, Research Program Administration Division, at the Defense Health Agency, responsible for the oversight and management of the Defense Health Program RDT&E program, ensuring the efficient and effective discovery and delivery of medical solutions that enhance Warfighter health and readiness.  Across his career, he has managed Basic, Applied, Advanced Technology Development, Advanced Component Development and Prototype, and Small Business Innovation Research programs, developing performance-enhancing biomedical and human systems technologies for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. CAPT Cohn has co-authored over 80 Human Performance and Biomedical related publications, chaired numerous panels and workshops and been invited to speak at national and international conferences. He was the 2015 recipient of the Human Factors Augmented Cognition Technical Group Leland S. Kollmorgen “Spirit of Innovation Award” and the 2017 recipient of the Aerospace Medical Association’s Life Sciences and Biomedical Engineering Branch’s “Research and Development Innovation Award. He is a member of the Department of Defense’s Acquisition Corps. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and the Society of Military Psychologists, & Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association. He served as co-chair of the International Cross Cultural Decision Making Conference, was the Principal Human Systems Subject Matter Expert to the 2015 National Defense Industrial Association’s Human Systems Division Conference and is the Deputy Chair, Human Performance Committee, Aerospace Medical Association.
