Medical errors are the third leading cause of deaths in the United States provoked by poor medical decision making. Patients die from preventable diseases caused by missed diagnoses while patients with mental health disorders are more likely to die from medical disorders than suicide." An electronic medical record if designed properly can help address this problem. Current electronic medical records (EMRs) on the market today are not effective because they do not possess the clinical information tools necessary to prevent diagnostic errors. The design of our application would define an overall architecture and design to support our approach. Our vision is to assist providers to derive at the most accurate diagnoses in the shortest time possible thus saving money and saving lives. An AI recommendation system will be used to point out certain possible avenues of investigation to a secure network of providers.
