Summary:
Graphene production capacity has reached 10,000 metric tonnes per annum and is poised to triple within the next 2 years. At the same time, demand is growing for a broad range of high volume applications that will easily absorb any new production volumes. These applications are as diverse as energy storage, cement and concrete, elastomers, coatings, plastics and composites. In addition, new innovations are driving interest in monolayer forms of graphene for medical, sensing and electronics applications. As the first 2D material, graphene has benefitted from 17 years of research and development. Now it is positioned to be used as a true commercial advanced material. This presentation will update the audience on the current state of graphene production and applications.
