Christine E. Duval

Christine Duval is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  Her research group develops advanced materials (resins and membrane adsorbers) and processes for highly selective separations in the areas of nuclear forensics, medical isotope purification and nuclear waste reprocessing. Professor Duval received her B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2011 and her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Clemson University in 2017. Before joining the faculty at Case Western in August 2017, she was a Summer Scholar with the US Department of Energy’s Nuclear Materials Information Program. Outside of her academic experiences, she worked as a business consultant at the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation writing business plans for high-tech startup companies.  She also served as the director of marketing, and third employee, at Amastan LLC, a Connecticut-based startup company. In 2020, she was received the DOE Early Career Research Award from the Office of Nuclear Physics.
