Dr Singh is a Senior Lecturer in Energy Engineering and Built Environment at Brunel University London (UK) where he has been an academic since 2011. His research focusses onto vacuum insulation panels, solar energy technologies and building/industrial retrofit for improved energy efficiency with over >£25 million research funding as PI or Co-I and >65 peer reviewed publications in the area. His funders include UKRI, Newton Fund (UK-Egypt, UK-India), Horizon2020, Innovate UK (UK-Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda), UKIERI-DST (UK-India) and several industrial funders based in USA, Germany and the UK. He was consultant to a project for developing Vaccine Storage Devices funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently, he is supervising 4 Post-Doctoral Fellows and 7 PhD studies covering various aspects of solar energy technologies, advanced insulation materials and efficiency of energy use in food sector and buildings. He was the Chair of the International Vacuum Insulation Symposium (IVIS2021) and is the current President of the IVIS Advisory Board.
