Jonathan Saathoff is currently employed at the ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company. Researchers at ExxonMobil have expertise with a number of advanced characterization techniques that are used to develop realistic models of composition for petroleum and other related products. Jonathan uses a variety of thermodynamic and molecular modeling techniques to better understand complex, business-relevant phenomena using these models of composition. In addition, he’s had projects in high-throughput screening for energy storage applications as well as combustion modeling. Prior to his work at ExxonMobil, he graduated with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering in 2016 from Prof. Paulette Clancy’s group at Cornell University (now at Johns Hopkins), and graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering at Northwestern University in 2010.
