Wan Shou is currently an assistant professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Arkansas (UArk). Before joining UArk in 2021, Shou was a postdoctoral associate at Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) at MIT, jointly affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Department of Mechanical Engineering. Shou obtained his doctorate in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly UM-Rolla) in 2018, and M.S. from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014. He holds a B.E. in textile engineering from China.
Shou’s research interest includes the functional materials, manufacturing system development, and functional applications. Specifically, Shou’s research focuses on developing novel manufacturing processes/systems to manufacture structures and devices using functional materials across scales. While Shou’s research is centered around manufacturing, his group is also actively working on machine learning, wearable electronics, robotics, and functional textiles.
