Dr. Jerry Hunter is the Director of the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology (WCNT) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The WCNT is a shared use research facility that offers access to state-of-the-art characterization and nanoscale fabrication instrumentation serving hundreds of users at the University of Wisconsin and regionally.

Dr. Hunter received his BS in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and his Ph. D. in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After receiving his Ph. D. Dr. Hunter worked in Silicon Valley at Intel Corporation and several commercial characterization service providers. From 2007-2014 he was associate director of the Nanoscale Fabrication and Characterization laboratory at Virginia tech and has been in his current position at UW-Madison since 2014. Dr. Hunter is an expert in surface analytical techniques and laboratory management.
