Dr. Bello's main research focus is on the adverse human health effects of workplace, consumer and community exposures to toxic chemicals, especially from nanomaterials and nanotechnologies. Specifically, he is interested in the biological significance of exposures, exposure routes, measurement issues and metrics, relationship between shape, size and surface chemistry of nanoparticles with health outcomes, development of dose-response relationships between exposures and adverse health effects, exposure biomarkers/biology, application of biosensors for collecting specific human exposure information, intervention and prevention, and regulatory aspects.
