Loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength is a problem in military-relevant settings including operational stress or post-injury immobilization. In affected muscle cells disassembly of proteins progresses faster than their replenishment. We designed non-toxic small molecules that mitigate the protein loss and restore muscle health in animal model.
