Summary:

Industrial robots are finding a lot of applications in factories around the nation. However, there are still challenges related to the cooperative operation of such robots in dynamic environments. The goal of the project is to interface ten different kinds of sensors to control the six motors in the six-degrees-of-freedom industrial robot. The first part of this project was related to designing the software to interface the sensors, whereas the second part of the project was related to implementing the software on the hardware PLCs, and evaluating the performance of the system designed as compared to implementation on an embedded system. The implementation could be applied in industries to increase the efficiency and safety of manufacturing.
