Dr. HaoTian Harvey Shi is an Assistant Professor of advanced manufacturing in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at Western University. His research group (Data-to-Manufacturing D2M Group) is working on designing the next generation of sustainable functional materials for additive hierarchical manufacturing across multiple length scales. Prior to joining Western, Dr. Shi was a post-doctoral research associate with the Bio-Interface group at the University of Cambridge focusing on developing multi-lengths-scale hierarchical fiber-based printing technologies for energy storage and biomedical sensing applications. He is also the founder and CEO of FlexCap Energy, a Toronto-based technology startup dedicated to commercializing flexible biodegradable thin-film batteries for the smart electronics industry.
