Dr. Weinan Xu is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015, and did postdoctoral research (2016-2019) at Johns Hopkins University. His current research is focused on the development of advanced hybrid materials and their advanced manufacturing, with applications in biomedicine, electronics, and energy storage. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Polymer Processing Society Early Career Award, Excellence in Graduate Polymer Research Award from the American Chemical Society, and Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from Sigma Xi and Georgia Tech.
