Roy A. Stillwell is the co-founder, CEO and chief scientist at NearWave. NearWave does research in diffuse optics, and makes a new type of handheld imaging device that helps physicians select the right therapy for their breast cancer patients using frequency domain Near infrared spectroscopy (fdNIRS). Roy received his PhD in electrical engineering in 2022 from the University of Notre Dame, with a focus in biophotonics research. His research in fdNIRS has been published in major journals in the field, and he has several patents in this area.
