Christina Newcomb received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University investigating supramolecular materials for regenerative medicine and held a postdoctoral position at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where she studied organic-mineral binding using atomic force microscopy. Since her time in academia, she has worked for AFM manufacturers and spent several years at a start-up, Scuba Probe Technologies, where she supported development of specialized AFM probes for liquid measurements. She is currently a member of nano@stanford at Stanford University where she supports atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy in multiple shared facilities, making the instrumentation available for Stanford researchers and the surrounding community.
