Andriy Palasyuk

Research Scientist

Critical Materials Institute, Ames National Laboratory

Dr. Andriy Palasyuk is a Scientist II at Ames National Laboratory. He obtained his PhD in Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (inorganic chemistry, 2002). Andriy continued building expertise in Germany and the United States during his post-doctoral appointments. His areas of expertise include materials discovery, development of novel cost-effective alloying approaches, studying the relationships between crystal, electronic structure, microstructure and physical properties, establishing phase equilibria and phase diagrams. Dr. Palasyuk has been a part of the Critical Materials Institute (CMI) since 2016. He leads a comprehensive multi-institutional, both, theoretical and experimental CMI effort on the search for new magnetic materials and more affordable domestic alternatives for the existing RE containing permanent magnets.
