Compostable polyester plastics

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

Using a simple manufacturing method for plastics based on extrusion, the potential biodegradability of polyester plastics is improved to make readily compostable plastics. This technology employs a straightforward addition of readily available salicylic acid to polyesters to improve biodegradability.
