Summary:

The storage of heat at temperatures beyond 200 degree (Celsius) at the scale of megawatthours and gigawatthours is one of the key challenges for the decarbonization of the energy system. The German Aerospace Center DLR has pioneered a wide range of innovative thermal energy storage systems for industrial applications and for grid-scale electricity storage in Carnot Batteries. The contribution will provide an overview of the research of the DLR and serve as an offer for companies and investors invested in collaboration.
