Daniël Melters is a staff scientist at the National Cancer Institute in the group of Dr. Yamini Dalal. He received his M.S. in biomedical sciences from Leiden University in the Netherlands and his Ph.D. in biochemical, molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from UC Davis. Before coming a staff scientist, he joined Dalal’s group as a postdoctoral fellow.
Melters’ research focuses on understanding how DNA accessibility is regulated in health and disease at the single molecule level using biochemical and biophysical tools. A major tool Melters uses is atomic force microscopy. He developed an analytical pipeline to study single molecule dynamics by high-speed AFM.
