Tom Pennell is a process integration specialist and the education and outreach coordinator at the Cornell NanoScale Facility in Ithaca, NY. He has over 20 years of experience in micro and nanoscale device fabrication in fields ranging from defense to biomedical applications. Tom is incredibly passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. In 2020 he received the NNCI award for excellence in education and outreach and in 2023 he hosted over 2,000 K-12 and adults to learn more about the exciting world of nanotechnology at the Cornell NanoScale Facility. At CNF he has been the architect of many new experiential learning programs and continues to innovate in the way students learn about micro and nanofabrication.
