Abraham Beyene obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from UMBC in 2008. After graduation, he worked for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering for several years, before heading to graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2019. Since 2020, Abraham has been a Group Leader at Janelia Research Campus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He runs an interdisciplinary lab that operates at the intersection of materials chemistry and neurobiology, with a focus on developing nanoscale tools and techniques that facilitate new biological discovery.
