Dr. Orane Guillaume-Gentil is a senior scientist in the Laboratory of Systems Biology and Genetics at EPFL, Switzerland. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in the development and applications of Fluidic Force Microscopy (FluidFM), a nanotechnology integrating microfluidics into AFM, for single-cell biology. Dr. Guillaume-Gentil obtained her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) in 2010, concentrating on the development of smart biointerfaces for tissue engineering applications. She then joined the Biology department at ETH Zurich as a postdoc, where she remained as a scientific assistant until 2022. Collaborating with industrial partners, engineers, and biologists, she drove the evolution of the nascent FluidFM technology into a versatile platform capable of tailored, non-destructive manipulation and analysis of single cells. In 2023, Dr. Guillaume-Gentil moved to the Laboratory of Systems Biology and Genetics at EPFL, to continue her research on FluidFM with a focus on live single-cell omics.
