Dr. Divya Panchanathan is a Business Development Manager in the In-Space Manufacturing team at Axiom Space, which is building the world’s first commercial space station. Divya pioneered the in-space manufacturing programs for advanced materials at Axiom Space and is currently leading three major partner programs for semiconductor crystals, optical fiber glass, and 2D materials. Divya obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India and her Master’s and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA with a research focus on interfacial science. Prior to Axiom Space, she led advanced materials R&D projects for filtration, oil & gas, and marine applications and has 6 peer-reviewed publications and several awards for scientific communication. As a part of the Axiom Space team building new markets for the commercial space economy, she is excited to partner with industry and academia to make manufacturing in space scalable and sustainable.
