Jessica Frick is a Research Engineer at Stanford University in the Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry & Materials Science from Princeton University, Dr. Frick specializes in semiconductor crystal growth. Additionally, Jessica has 10+ years of experience in crystal growth and materials synthesis in industry and academia of pharmaceutical compounds and other advanced materials (MOFs, aerogels, metal alloys, high entropy alloys, superconductors). Jessica’s career has evolved into the space sector, which enables microgravity as a synthetic tool to influence the assembly of materials at the atomic and macroscopic scales. Within the EXtreme Environment Microsystems Laboratory (XLab), Jessica leads three active ISS NL programs on various materials transformations.
