Dana McCoskey is an Environmental Technology Manager in the US Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO). Her background includes two decades of project management, technology development, and field research for fish and wildlife monitoring and environmental studies. Dana leads the Environmental R&D Portfolio for the WPTO Hydropower Program and is an advisor to the Marine Energy Program and other DOE offices. She works closely with collaborative partners in national labs, industry, academia, small businesses, and tribes. Focus areas include fish passage and aquatic connectivity; developing monitoring technologies for sensitive species including acoustic telemetry, sensor systems, and eDNA; and advancing sustainability science to improve environmental outcomes of renewable energy systems. She holds degrees in Biology and Environmental Science and Public Policy.
