Dr. Fathi Karouia, with over 25 years of experience, is a leader in space life sciences. His work spans basic and applied biomedical research in collaboration with academic, commercial, and government partners. Dr. Karouia has conducted over 35 flight experiments on the International Space Station, advancing our understanding of the effects of microgravity and radiation on life. As the In-Space Commercialization Lead at BioServe Space Technologies, he drives the commercialization of space technologies, focusing on new LEO economy and in-space manufacturing. He has initiated significant partnerships across aerospace, biotech, and pharma sectors and co-chairs the In-Space Manufacturing and Production Applications within the International Astronautical Federation. Dr. Karouia holds multiple degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Space Technologies, and a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Houston.
