Jacob Scoccimerra is the Space Program Lead at Interstellar Lab. In this role, Jacob is focused on developing and building the Interstellar Lab Space Program. The programs current goals include completing food production hardware in the NASA Deep Space Food Challenge, building plant research capabilities in LEO, and growing the first rose on the moon through Mission Little Prince.
Interstellar Lab, founded by Barbara Belvisi, is focused on developing hardware and scientific expertise to supply plant-based ingredients at scale on Earth and in Space.
Jacob started his career in space as a mission manager at Nanoracks LLC (now part of Voyager Space Holdings). Over a 5 year career at Nanoracks he operated as the Internal Payloads Program Manager. During this role, he launched over 100 experiments to the International Space Station for commercial, governmental, and university researchers.
