Summary:

In quantum photonics, nonlinear physical processes such as spontaneous four-wave mixing enable technologies such as chip-scale sources of entangled photon pairs. These concepts are difficult to convey to a broad audience, especially in the case of non-technical presentations. In this project, we develop a workflow for creating animations depicting quantum light generation and show a time-lapse of an on-chip quantum optics experiment called Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometry. The workflow utilizes open-access 3D modeling and animation tools such as Blender and video editing software such as DaVinci Resolve.
