Summary:
Projected workforce shortages in the semiconductor industry are projected to be in the tens of thousands by the year 2030. Innovative educational strategies must be adopted to tackle the challenges ahead. Join us for a presentation on a unique, comprehensive VR educational platform being developed at Cornell University that is an interdepartmental collaboration between the Cornell Center for Teaching Innovation and the Cornell NanoScale Facility (CNF). This immersive VR experience brings learners directly into a cutting edge NSF research facility for in person clean room instruction by expert staff with embedded interactive and quiz content. The goal of this program is to expand the reach of the (CNF) cleanroom far beyond the borders of our clean room to learners across the country. This will be an interactive session. Attendees will see a live demonstration of the content along with demonstrations of our future vision to bring the tools of the semiconductor industry to the learner using spatial computing via industry partnerships.
