Dr. Polsky earned his PhD in Chemistry at New Mexico State University under Joseph Wang and did a one year as a post-doctoral fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem under Itamar Willner. He worked as a staff scientist at Sandia National Laboratories from 2006-2025 before co-founding Biowear. Dr. Polsky has 25 years’ experience in biological sensors, including preparation of luminescent quantum dot bio-labels, electrochemical biosensors and functionalization of high-density DNA and protein electrode arrays. His current activities are focused on the development of a wearable microneedle sensor device and exploring how dermal interstitial fluid can be used as a novel bio-fluid to clinically diagnose a range of health states as an alternative to blood sampling.
