Jeremy Pitts is the Managing Director of Activate Houston. Activate is a non-profit organization which awards the most promising science entrepreneurs a two-year fellowship to transform their research and technology into products that can benefit society. Activate Houston represents Activate’s newest cohort, launched in 2024, seeking to build on the growing innovation ecosystem in Houston and throughout Texas focused on the energy transition as well as other impactful areas. Jeremy is a veteran of three previous startup companies in the energy space, spanning solar, industrial decarbonization, and traditional oil and gas. He successfully led the development of a new technology for upstream oil and gas production which could eliminate wellhead methane emissions, which was sold to a leading oilfield services company. Jeremy was also one of the founders of Greentown Labs, the nation’s largest climate tech incubator. Jeremy holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Caltech, an MS in mechanical engineering from MIT, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
