Benjamin “Ben” Henry is an Advisor to the Branch Chief for the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Branch at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate, and a Veteran having served as an Infantry Captain in the U.S. Army deploying worldwide for combat and humanitarian relief missions.

Ben joined DHS in 2020 as a Technology Scout. His previous assignment was at the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research and Development where he served as a regional technology transfer lead for 4 years, managing the intellectual property and license activity of 15 federal laboratories.

Ben graduated from the United States Military Academy with a B.S. in environmental engineering, Virginia Tech with a master’s in public policy, and Temple University with an MBA in marketing.
