Dr. Tanya Hutter is a faculty member at Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and a member of the Advanced Materials Science and Engineering research area. Her research interests lie in the fields of emerging molecular sensing technologies, nanomaterials, microfabrication and photonics with applications in environmental and industrial sensing, homeland security and medical diagnostics. Dr. Hutter published 50+ peer-reviewed papers and is an inventor on 7 patents. She was awarded L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowship (2016) and admitted as a Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry (2022) for her scientific achievements. Dr. Hutter also has a strong interest in technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. Alongside her academic career she co-foundered two startups in the fields of gas sensing and MedTech.
