Dr. Matsuzawa earned his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tokyo. His professional journey commenced in 1987 at the Sony Corporation, where he contributed to the design of diverse organic materials, and to the development of lithography processes for semiconductor manufacturing. During this tenure, he also undertook significant roles, including a stint as a visiting researcher at E. I. DuPont's Central Research and Development in Delaware from 1991 to 1992. From 1996 to 2001, he held a position of Principal Engineer at a Japanese government project of Association of Super-Advanced Electronics Technologies, followed by his role as a Senior Manager at the Sony Europe’s Materials Science Laboratories in Stuttgart, Germany from 2001 to 2004.
