Summary:

This presentation provides a strategic overview of the Commercial Leap Ahead for Wide Bandgap Semiconductors (CLAWS) Hub, a cornerstone of the Microelectronics Commons network dedicated to accelerating U.S. leadership in next-generation semiconductor technologies. We will outline the Hub’s collaborative "lab-to-fab" capabilities, which unites industry, academia, and government to fast-track the prototyping and transition of wide and ultra-wide bandgap materials—including II-Nitrides, SiC, Ga₂O₃, and diamond. The talk will highlight how CLAWS is addressing critical gaps in wide bandgap and ultrawide bandgap semiconductors to enable transformative applications in AI, resilient power and communications infrastructure, and quantum in both the defense and commercial sectors. Finally, we will discuss the Hub’s comprehensive roadmap for ecosystem growth, emphasizing workforce development initiatives designed to cultivate the specialized talent required for a robust domestic supply chain.
