Summary:

In the mission to transition emerging technologies from research to real-world application (Lab-to-Fab), technical excellence is only the first step. This challenge is particularly severe in complex, interdisciplinary fields such as integrated photonics and quantum devices. These technologies, which often rely on novel heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging techniques, demand a new level of collaboration between designers, foundries, and government stakeholders. The most common and critical point of failure is not in the lab, but in the engagement strategy and in identifying and attracting the right people. This presentation will provide examples of successful cases and a replicable blueprint for building and scaling collaborations between the academy, industry, and government partners.
