
Dr. James McCabe is an aerospace engineer focused on solving challenging Guidance, Navigation, and Control problems to enable successful, efficient, and safe spaceflight. His expertise is within navigation, estimation theory, and orbit determination, and his experience spans the development life-cycle of concept inception, system design, algorithms research and analysis, and ultimate flight software integration and testing. He designed the navigation filter within Orion's rendezvous, proximity operation, and docking system for use on NASA’s Artemis 3+ missions. He is team focused and emphasizes the importance of student development by serving as a mentor and research advocate for graduate students.
