Dr. Russell Schmitz leads the Research and Development laboratory at 374Water. Dr. Schmitz's work focuses on design, operation and scale-up of Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) reactors for the destruction of persistent contaminants like PFAS and other challenging commercial waste streams. Dr. Schmitz earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from NC State University, and his previous experience includes the US Army Research & Technology Integration Division and a prominent environmental consulting and engineering firm.
