Dr. David Hill received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill in 2018. Dr. Hill has over 12 years of experience designing, fabricating, and characterizing nanoscale photonic and optoelectronic devices. Dr. Hill has created new processes for the growth of electronically and morphologically controlled nanomaterials and leveraged these to create advanced optoelectronic devices, such as avalanche photodiodes, solar cells, and silicon light emitters. Dr. Hill currently leads a variety of semiconductor-focused programs at SRI, including development of new methods for material growth, 3D photonic integration, Geiger mode APDs, and improving the speed of modeling of electronic properties in semiconductor systems.
