Sarah Herschede serves as Portfolio Manager at Varda Space Industries, where she is responsible for developing strategy and managing partnerships to advance in-space manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Prior to joining Varda, she worked at the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), supporting the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) portfolio, with a focus on advancing novel products and repurposing existing pharmaceuticals for the Chemical Medical Countermeasures Program. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Tulane University, where she applied her expertise in synthetic and supramolecular chemistry to develop novel antibiotics.
