2023 Special Symposium sponsored by the Homeland Security Technology Consortium (HSTech)
The smuggling of illicit synthetic opioids into the United States by land, air and sea has contributed to a dramatic rise in overdose deaths across the country. Federal and state officials recognize that a whole of government approach is needed to interdict narcotics in arrival, source and transit zones. This symposium will focus on the technologies, processes and partnerships that will help the United States counter the importation and distribution of illicit fentanyl and reduce its impact on our communities.
Session I Air: Collaboration, Procedures and Innovative Technologies to Counter Opioid Movement by Air, International and Express Mail
Session II Land: Technologies and Collaborations to Suppress Illicit Opioid Smuggling on the Borders and Interior
Session III Sea: Maritime Domain Awareness to Counter Narcotics Movement in Coastal and International Waters
Session IV Community: Field Operations Technology Needs and Law Enforcement Collaboration
